Isabell and Carlee prayer request

Both of these requests are from last night and I pray that both of these little babies are better by this morning. I will post again as soon as I hear some reports which I hope will be good ones!

Isabell Rose was running a high fever and has a terrible cough. She is still so tiny (only 10 lbs) and has never really been sick. Her family of course is so worried. Please pray for Isabell Rose Harrision.

The other little baby, Carlee, we were praying for a couple of days ago, was admitted to the hospital last night. She was dehydrated from being so sick and is also awaiting some additional test results from a pediatric cardiologist. They will get some results from her procedures this morning.

Please pray not only for these little babies, but also for the Harrisons and the Paynes as they worry so about their children.

Please pray for Carlee, a 4 1/2 month old baby. She will have some exploratory surgery this morning at Egleston Hospital. They are concerned with an artery from her heart that is wrapped around her esophagus. After they determine the extent of this problem, they will decide what to do from there. Joan, Jan, Jimmy and Freddie Prater of Calhoun, Georgia lost their mother last night after a long illness. Although it was anticipated, it is still very difficult to lose a loved one and especially on a day of celebration. Their father passed away some year's back on New Year's Eve. Please pray for the Prater family in Calhoun.

Ron Harris, son of Gayle and Doug Harris (Doug is pastor of Grace Baptist Church)

Ron is recovering from 4 small strokes last Thursday - he is still having some trouble with speech and full strength in his right leg but has returned to a couple of hours a day work - they found a hole in his heart as well and there is blockage in his carotid artery but they are hoping medication will take care of that. He returns to his Cardiologist in Rome next Monday for further evaluation. Their entire family is very special and we would appreciate prayers for them. Thank you

Alllyn, Don and Joy Carson's daughter, has been sick for about a week and they took her to the emergency room last night. She was badly dehydrated and has early stage pneumonia. They gave her intravenous fluids and started her on antibiotics but decided not to admit her to the hospital at this time. She is at home now. Please pray.

Lucille Wahl from Birmingham, AL lost her battle with breast cancer this morning. She was a friend of Houston and Kerry Suggs. When they got there they noticed that she had a lot of swelling. They went to the ER down there and are now waiting for a room for her mom. They think it may have something to do with her medications, but are not sure. We will update you later.

I wanted to thank everyone for their prayers for my grandmother. We found out on Friday that her lymph nodes were infected. There is no cancer. We are very relieved as a family.

Hello Everyone,

I have some GREAT NEWS! Eric had his CT scan today and we didn't think that we would get the results back until next week. Well, I just talked to mom at the hospital and they went ahead and gave him the results. The large spot of cancer that was on his liver has shrunk down to almost nothing! Praise the Lord!!! God has been so faithful in answering everyones prayers! This is definitely a big one!!!! The other blessing today is that they have found the source of the pain and fever that he has had. He has a large pocket of fluid near his diaphram. They are going to keep him in the hospital tonight and drain it. Hopefully that will alleviate the problems. His and our prayers are now that it will be just an overnight stay. We would love to be able to have Thanksgiving together as a family. We have so much to be thankful for! Please continue to keep Eric and our family in your prayers. God has proven that He is listening! Thank you so much!

Jennifer Wake has info from Kim Lowe in ref to her grandmother:

I just spoke with Kim, she and her dad are on their way back from Tennessee; they were called in twice today as they thought her grandmother Jewel would pass on, but she is hanging on. The prayer of the family is that she will pass on peacefully and suffer no more pain. Kim has asked that everyone please pray for the same thing, if it is God's will.

The doctors found the source of infection, it was in her back all along. This is what caused the back pain and the double pneumonia and blood infection. They are debating now to try to treat it with antibiotics or just to cut it out. She is awake, aware, hungry and eating and drinking just fine. She is tired easily, though. She hopefully will get her own room soon, just depends on how this infection thing goes.



Ryan and April Carson would appreciate our prayers for April's family, the Speights. April's grandfather passed away yesterday. The funeral service is tomorrow at Gene Davis - White Columns Funeral Chapel in Mableton at 2:00pm.

I do not have an update today, but this was from Krista's husband, Billy, as of last night.



Krista has not awakened enough for them to try to let her breathe on her own power, so they will try to do a self powered breathing test tomorrow. She has not been lucid for more than two seconds since Friday morning. Tomorrow is an important day, we hopefully will be able to get her off the ventilator and breathing on her own by tomorrow night.

Our sweet Krista Dunn is very ill. Her husband, Billy, has been in touch with Eric and will continue to keep us up updated.

We were praying for her back pain, but her pain was due to the swine flu. Going undiagnosed she now also has pneumonia and the infection has also entered her blood steam. She is in ICU at Northside Hospital and is on a ventilator. The next 24 hours are crucial.

Billy has suggested that visitors right now would not be such a good idea as she is sedated and could have no visitors right now anyway.

I promise to let all of you know just as soon as I know any further information.

The reason of course for this immediate prayer request is obvious. Please pray and pass on to others that would help with this request. Billy being on dialysis is also in need of our prayers at this time so he may also continue to be with his wife.

I just returned from the funeral service for Mary Ann Chvala. Krista Timmins and I attended the Walk to Emmaus with her just a few weeks ago. Mary Ann was 55 years old and had stage 4 lung cancer at the time of her Walk. She was a great inspiration to all of us. It was such a blessing today to hear how her "Life Song" stretched way beyond Emmaus. Mary Ann is survived by her mother, her husband and three sons. Please include this precious family in our prayer requests.

Heather Farmer's friend, Tabatha is 5 months pregnant and may lose the baby due to a malformed heart. She will find out more on the 14th. All prayer hands needed.

This is good news from Jessica:
She is almost seven pounds now and she is doing so good that he might be able to bring her home next wk. He said to tell everybody thank you for praying and he stated that he guessed I was right that prayer does work. He has never been to Church. So I thank everyone for praying for them. The joy and big smile on his face when he shared this with me, was the happiest that I have ever seen him. thanks again.

She fell outside the day before yesterday and broke her knee, rotator cuff and has bleeding on the brain. Tomorrow she will have a dye test to find out where the bleeding is and is scheduled for knee surgery which includes pins being placed. Just wanted you to pray for her and her family. Kim Terrell's sister, Jamey Seldin, will be having a biopsy done this Friday as a result of a mammogram that showed something her doctor said needed a closer look.

Jacob is home, but insurance will not pay for him to get rehab as an inpatient and they are concerned he will run away again. I was glad he wasn't kidnapped, but saddened that he is in such turmoil that he would run away. They are asking for continued prayer for him and the family. Jan Williams - going home today - her problem was caused by Ambien - neurologist said many people have reactions to this sleeping medication such as hallucinations, feeling of falling and actually falling down (which was the case with Jan) - she does also have vertigo but there is therapy for this. Jan is grateful for your prayers.

Nada - still in Cartersville hospital - although maybe slightly better, will be there a few more days until she is healed completely and then will be discharged and have to return for more surgery. Thank you for your prayers

Thank you all for your prayers! I just got home from the hospital and there's some good news. They did not do a CT scan. Instead, they did some kind of test on her legs to check for blood clots. They did not find any so they are thinking her chest pains are caused by a pulled muscle she got from vomiting so much. She has a picc line in and they are feeding her through that. She is in a lot of pain and is still vomiting, but they say the baby looks good and has a strong heart beat. Prayers are still needed so please keep her and the baby in your thoughts.

A young girl named April that is pregnant and has many health problems and those problems are causing additional problems with her pregnancy. She is now in the hospital. She has been having really bad chest pains along with the vomiting. The Dr. just came in saying she thinks April may have blockages of some kind around her heart. They have ordered a CT scan which can help April but harm the baby. She has been told that with the scan she could very possibly loose the baby. So if you could take a few moments and say a prayer for her and the baby it would be greatly appreciated.


Willis Wake's uncle passed away yesterday and Willis will be traveling to North Carolina Sunday where he will be a pallbearer at the service. Please pray for the Joyce family and also for Willis to travel safely and be held by all of God's angels.

We found out about 3am this morning that Wendy’s Uncle, Sonny Sherer had a stroke and is in the hospital in stable condition in Ft. Myers, Florida. Wendy and her parents left about 4 am to head down there. We are asking for prayers for her uncle and his recovery, travel mercies for Wendy and her parents. At this time I do not know how long they will be down there or any other details, but I will send updates as I get them.

Well I am back to being a single dad again for a few days or a week again. Hey, maybe I need a prayer so that I survive the kids.

Her electrolytes are still not right and if she is still not where they want her to be by Monday, they will admit her to Scottish Rite to help her better with a feeding tube.

God is watching over her of course, but let's let God know how much we are still praying for her to not have to endure a hospital stay!!

Good news today, Emmy came home from the hospital yesterday afternoon!! The MRI today showed some slight improvement so they decided to let her go home with home nursing so they can continue the antibiotic treatment. I just found out that Emmy has a staph infection in her spine between a number of discs. She will have to stay in the hospital at least a week on IV antibiotic and they are hoping it isn't the resistant strain...she can not stand or move around much because it is painful....will be praying for the antibiotics to work..and hoping for no permanent damage....

Lori Henderson has a young friend with 2 very young children and she just found out that her husband has cancer. Please lift the family in prayer. So young and so sad.

This is a request from a friend of the Wakes. I have posted this just as the friend wrote the request.



I will like to ask that you put my brother Eric on your prayer list. He has been having pain and problems with his shoulder. He has been very tired and has lost 30 pounds. After blood work, they have discovered that he has a tumor the size of a baseball between his rib cage and kidneys. He has an appt. with the surgeon first thing in the am. It is essential that they remove it quickly. He is very worried as are the rest of the family. Please pray that the tumor will be benign and that God will guide his doctors in how to proceed. Please also pray that God will use this to bring us all closer to him. Our family believes that prayer works! Thank you for taking the time to lift him up in prayer.

Update on Eric's Aunt Carolyn

She has not received a good prognosis as this rare and aggressive form of cancer has spread to other organs and she has been given 3 to 6 months to live. Please pray the presence of the Spirit of God for Carolyn, her husband, their kids and grandkids and all of those that love her.

Hi Friends and Family.

First off, please allow me the opportunity to Thank You for all of your prayers and the many prayers lists that Jared and our family are on. We believe in the healing and wonders of prayer, so THANK YOU!

Unfortunately, the medication is not working for him. I picked him up from work today and his coloring was quite awful. Very yellow and Jared was feeling quite lightheaded. Based upon my conversation with the doctor, our best route is to have him admitted and pray that this new turn will be the best option in getting this resolved.

We do appreciate your continued prayers, love and support. May God always bless you for your generosity of spirit.

Hi dear friends and family.

I am writing to you in the hopes that if you believe in the power of prayer, that you will take a moment to please pray for healing with Jared.

As some of you may know, Jared has been ill for the past couple of weeks and for the past 12 days, he has been hiccupping non-stop. It is causing him to have pain in his chest and back, occasional moments of losing his breath (which can get pretty scary), and lack of appetite, just to name a few. He has lost 18 lbs since June 2nd and we feel very stressed about this situation. The specialist today increased his dosage of medication and if this does not work, he will need to be hospitalized at which he will be given his medication at a large dosage intravenously until it stops. We pray that it won't get to this point for several reasons as you can well imagine. He would hospitalized until it went away and it could take a few hours to a few days.

Jared works for a very generous and kind employer, Sharp Top Trees. Please pray for their continued support and understanding (Alan & Scott Bowen - they are brothers). Jared has a planned business trip for next week and because he has been out of work for various doctor appointments and rest, he does not want to miss this trip. He doesn't want the business to lose the money as it will all be non-refundable.

Again, thank you to those who have been praying for him. Please join me in praying for his healing as everyday we are increasingly becoming more frustrated and at a loss for his condition.

We are praying for the family at Lake Arrowhead who suffered the loss of a mother and the critical injury of the father in a fire this week. This is the development where Eric and his family are living. I understand the father was actually able to save the couple's young daughter but not his wife.

Jenny Ingram

She had cancer and was cured (she is around 33 years old) - but of course had a very weak immune system. She got pregnant and the Drs took the baby at 5 months because it would have threatened her life; and of course the baby didn't live. They did a bone marrow transplant because of weak nutrients, etc., and put her in a drug induced coma - after 2 weeks they brought her out because her heart stopped. She came out of it ok, but today she has lapsed into a coma (on her own). Bless her heart.

Dear Friends and Family,
Today we got CT results. Not Good news. The cancer in the lymph nodes between the lungs has been aggressive in the past 3 months. It has moved into the trachea (windpipe). It is also pressing on an artery. Gene has to have another echo cardiogram and a bronchoscopy (looking into the airway with a scope) to see how involved the trachea is. After these test he will probably have more chemo and radiation if the heart doctor says he is close enough to a year after the stints to have radiation. The test aren't scheduled yet, but will be as soon as all doctors have talked.

Please Pray!! God is still in control and His hand has been in everything that has happened. We will continue to Praise Him and Trust Him.

Just a quick note to let you know that Chad is doing good. He was transferred to Shepherd Center in Atlanta for rehabilitation. He can talk now. He has significant memory loss though. He doesn't remember that his father and Michael passed away. He asks me everyday ten to twelve times where they are. I am just glad he is alive. Keep praying that he recovers enough to be mobile. I have a favor to ask you. Please send and email to your school asking anyone if they have a used car for sale. Feb 11th I was rear ended on 75 and they totaled my car. I had just paid it off in September. I really don't want car payments if I don't have to have them. I like driving small cars. It's worth a shot to see if anyone would like to earn some extra money for a car they don't use. Thanks

You know, the kind you get with your to-go meal at restaurants, packaged with a plastic fork, spoon, and napkin?For years I ditched the plastic knife, thinking they are a waste of energy and not very useful at cutting my food. Steak, chicken, pot roast …metal knives slice right through these, but not plastic knives. Hard foods are not their forte. Where plastic knives do excel, however, is in cutting fresh from the oven, piping hot brownies!Have you ever cut brownies with a table knife and made a ragged mess out of them? Well, I've discovered a way to enjoy them, and keep the m in tact, while they're still warm. I've used this trick successfully for years, as my hips will attest. Nice squares of warm, gooey chocolate goodness with smooth edges can be yours when cut with a plastic knife.Knowing plastic knives' special knack for cutting brownies, I use them specifically for that purpose. I don't try to cut cardboard, steak or wood with them. That would be a senseless misuse of their gifts.Oh, but how often have I misused my gifts or stepped away from my natural talents, attempting something I am not really cut out to do? This usually leads to frustration and a mess.The point is this: God designed each one of us with certain abilities, but we tend to look at the abilities of the other women and we get caught in the comparison trap. Pam Fitzgerald is a teacher at Kingston Elementary. She has gone through a lot within the past few years. A few years ago one of her sons hung himself on the front porch of her house around halloween...he died. A year or so later her husband hung himself and died. Again she has had many more trials and tribulations in her life before and after these terrible events. Just last week another one of her sons was in a car accident, they didn't think he was going to make it.
PLEASE, PLEASE PRAY for this strong woman and her son Chad.
